New pitch scores with football players

It's good news for sportspeople in Fawley – there's a brand new, all-weather pitch at Gang Warily Recreation and Community Centre.

The pitch was officially opened on 1 February by the Leader of New Forest District Council Cllr Barry Rickman. Cllr Rickman said: "This is an excellent facility which will help deal with the huge demand for sport in the area and I would be happy to come back for a game myself."

This is now the third all-weather pitch which is available at Gang Warily and staff have immediately launched a new '5 a Side League' to encourage even greater use of the existing facilities.

The facilities manager at Gang Warily, Steve Robinson, said: "We are making a huge drive this year to provide many more activities; people should pop along and see just how much is going on now."

A new boulder wall is also currently under construction at the site and will be free to use or bookable as a programmed activity.
