£1000 was raised for Shelterbox
Four intrepid friends took up a two-day challenge on the rugged terrain of Dartmoor to support international disaster relief after rigorous training in the New Forest.
Damian Proctor and his friends David Burton, Paul Seys and Jamie White have raised more than £1,000 for Shelterbox after completing the Dartmoor Challenge.
The UK-based charity delivers emergency shelter and support to people affected by worldwide disasters, such as the floods in Pakistan. Shelterbox supplies victims with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are homeless.
They joined 31 other teams to walk the 38 mile course, while carrying a heavy ShelterBox packed with kit to survive a night outdoors.
Damian said: “We are proud to be one of the teams who made it round safely, with all of the kit, and only a few blisters. We really enjoyed the adventure and the camaraderie, but the real point of the endurance event was to raise money for ShelterBox. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored us.”
