Record your choice of desert island music

Forest Forge Theatre Company is asking for Hampshire resident’s desert island disc choices.

The project, which runs until Friday 27 August, sees the Hampshire based theatre company touring the county's libraries with a special desert island set.

Members of the public will be invited to sit on the especially created island and write down their eight favourite records, a luxury and a book that they would choose to take with them if abandoned on a desert island.

The top choices will be announced each week on Forest Forge’s website www.forestforge.co.uk.

The project has been devised to engage Hampshire residents in Forest Forge Theatre Company’s next touring theatre production, entitled For the Record.

For the Record is a brand new play, which has been written especially for Forest Forge by Joyce Branagh, has been inspired by Radio 4s Desert Island Discs. It will be performed throughout Hampshire in September and October 2010.

Members of the public can record their choice of desert island music at various libraries and events across the county throughout the summer, including:

Fareham Library: Monday 5 July – Friday 9 July
Ringwood Festival: Saturday 10 July
