Master Classes in Wine Appreciation

Thursday 7, 14, 21 and 28 October :: 7.30pm at St. Thomas’ Church, Lymington

Conducted by David Burns, Master of Wine. A past Chairman of
the Institute of Masters of Wine, David has bought, sold and studied fine
wine over a long career. Wines tasted will range across the main regions
of the world—will be typical of their origin and be of very good quality.
Enlightening, entertaining, educating and enjoyable. Numbers limited and
pre-booking essential.

A falconry experience at the Out of Town Centre, Beaulieu

Sunday 17 October :: 10am - 1pm

Fire Masterclass at the Treehouse Study Centre, Beaulieu

Sunday 17 October :: 10am - 4pm

Try your hand at making fire by friction! This full day includes all aspects of the fire making – different methods of making an ember, burning properties of wood, natural and manmade tinders, to leaving no trace behind you. Organ Recital by Dr. Martin Neary, LVO

Friday 8 October at St. Thomas’ Church, Lymington

Former Organist and Master of Choristers at Winchester Cathedral and
then at Westminster Abbey, Martin Neary now composes, conducts and
performs worldwide. His programme in Lymington will include Toccata and
Fugue in D Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach; Andante Pathétique by John
Stainer and Sonata No 1 in F minor by Mendelssohn. There’ll be a
video link from the organ to a big screen in the nave. And afterwards—a
party with a chance to meet Dr Neary in the Organ Loft.

Renewal Festivities Week, Lymington

Monday 25 - Sunday 31 October

A week-long programme of activities and events in support of the St. Thomas’
Church Renewal Project. Activities for all ages including:

  • cookery and flower Local arranging demos
  • Bridge
  • Joe Jingles playgroup
  • Family cooking morning
  • Quiz night
  • Master classes in wine appreciation
  • Walking tours
  • Halloween party
  • Rockschool workshop and concert and more.
  • The week ends on Sunday with a special Festival Service in St. Thomas’ Church.

Hands-on Countryside Experience. Have a taste of educational activities, enter the cob house and step back to the mid-1700s, countryside crafts, thatching demonstrations, mud oven cookery, pony and trap rides.

Rockschool workshop

Sunday 30 October :: 11.45am at St Thomas' Church, Lymington

Young rock stars from ‘Clive’s Easylearn Pop Music School’ will be providing a concert showcasing their skills.
There’ll be two 20 minute live shows— plus an interval
workshop where budding rock and pop stars (aged between 7 and 17
years) can join in free taster sessions on guitar and drums.

The event is in support of the St. Thomas' Church Renewal Project.
